Wednesday Night                    7:00pm

The pastor has just begun a series on Wednesday night in the book of Proverbs. He has titled the series "A manual for Christian Living." The pastor invites everyone to come out and to experience this wonderful book that was written almost 1000 years before Christ’ birth. In our lesson this past Wednesday night the pastor introduced the book to the class. He provided information about the books author, date of writing, structure of the book, and the various literary structures that exist in the book. We learned that the proverbs actually begin in chapter ten of the book and end in chapter twenty-nine. The pastor made the class aware of the various forms of proverbs that exist and how proverbs in Hebrew literature are so different from western proverbial statements. We also learned that there were several writers or contributors to the book of proverbs. We look forward to next Wednesday night to see where our study in the book of proverbs will take us.
